The neighborhood has just gotten bigger.

When we were expecting our first child, my husband and I traveled to Europe. We found the land beautiful, the sites majestic, and the people amazing. One tour guide was particularly impressive. She spoke to us in English, Spanish to another couple, German to yet another, then Italian, and finally French – all in a matter of minutes. Shocked by her abilities, we commented about how she must be in great demand for her skills. Her response was, “No. It’s pretty common here.”

What a wake up call! Neither my husband nor I had taken anything more than a few high school language classes. But we knew that if we wanted our child to be successful, the future would demand she do more. And with that came the idea for Magellan’s Toy Shop – a place to find fun and exciting products to help children learn about different languages and cultures.
